  • Chapter 27: The Killing Of Children

This entry is part 27 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

I clenched my right fist to try and make a wider black fire, but it was still tiny. It covered the chain well, even if it wasn’t big. I leapt towards the table and threw the chain at one of the legs as it swirled around. Chain pushed me with too much power as I flew on the table and went down on the floor, still managing to hold Bjorna in my other hand. I tried to pull the chain back, but the black fire was gone on the chain and my hand. A cubicle with a big arm closed in on me and swung its red fist towards me as I put Bjorna up as a shield, and in the same movement, I put Bjorna down on the floor and made a quick elbow behind me so the cubicle lost its balance and I sat on the chair. I went up instantly, grabbed Bjorna, and threw Bjorna up in the air and hit with the right fist underneath the chair. It smashed towards the mouth of another cubicle, making a lot of pink liquid splash everywhere as it stopped moving and fell to the ground. A Chair with a roller function flew in the air with several legs propelling like a helicopter, barely missing my face as it went down on the floor and rolled away from me before it stopped and made a couple of movements like it was showing me what the skills were like I even cared. I moved towards the table as a trashcan with sharp teeth jumped above the table, and I rolled under the table to the other side to figure out a way to kill the trashcan. The roller chair came flying again toward me, and it missed me barely as I, in the last second, bent backwards with my upper body, but it managed to graze the right side of my forehead. I felt something on my head and touched my forehead that was bleeding more than I anticipated from a freaking graze. The chair moved again to show the skills, trying to impress me. I am so going to kill that damn chair for making me bleed. I was wary of the other furniture moving behind me as I rolled forward towards the chair, putting Bjorna on the floor and sitting down quickly, grabbing Bjorna again on the legs and making a forward roll without using my hands. I jumped up, smashing Bjorna down on the chair, and I kept smashing it as pink liquid splashed everywhere. I quickly turned to face the other enemies when they stood still momentarily as if they had just seen a ghost or something.

“WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, COME ON!” I screamed at them.

I looked down and noticed the suit had changed a little bit of colour to pink liquid or, I suppose, blood. Where is the chain? I saw it was not in my hand anymore and stuck on the table’s legs. I moved towards the table when a red fist hit me in the face. I hit the wall and fell on the floor, and everything around me turned black momentarily.

Something was touching my face as I opened up my eyes and saw the damn kid again smiling. I tried grabbing him, but he was too fast and jumped back. I got up and noticed I was in a field now. It looked like we were still in the same environment as the woods before, but no cabin was around.

“What is it this time, your damn brat?” I asked him.

“I forgot to ask for your complete name before. We have to be bound somehow, and you seem serious about developing your powers.”

What is this brat talking about? I need to catch the damn boy and show him a lesson, spoiled shit crap boy. I got up hastily and charged towards him as he snapped his fingers. I lost my balance and fell to the ground. It was dark when a torch suddenly lit up, and several children had hurdled up in a circle, looking scared. I noticed they were not normal kids. Two of them had two small white wings, one with yellow eyes and the other with black eyes. There were also children with long ears, which I suppose was from elves, so mixed angel and elves kids stuck in a small space.

“Haha! You see all the potential of these kids.”

I looked at Sterk as he laughed in the corner, but none of the kids noticed his presence.

“What do you want with the kids?” I asked with a stern voice.

“Well, you need to get the black fire up and running. Not the small thing you have right now, that is, if you want to save the children.”

“What do you mean? They are sitting on the floor here. I don’t see anything dangerous around them.”

A wind blew through the corridor, making the children shaking. I walked out of the small space and ended up in two directions to the left and right.

“Go right”, I heard Sterk’s voice from behind.

I kept going through the corridor with several doors on both sides and small windows in small rooms where children were sitting on the floor, all scared. I tried grabbing the handle on one of the doors, but my hand just slipped through. I looked at Sterk, who shook his head.

“Your body is not here. I am showing you a reality right now. All this is happening in real-time, with a slight delay of where your body is.”

A big red creature opened one of the doors at the end of the corridor, and a couple of children emerged from the room. I went after them to see why the creature had let them out of the room. When I came around the corner, there was warm air in that space, and something yellow shone through the door window to the left. I looked through the windows and went inside, noticing it looked like a factory. A conveyor belt connected to some machine was moving things, looking like shredded bits of meat. I looked closer to understand better what it was when hair and an eye showed up on the belt, moving towards a big oven lit on fire. I moved quickly and noticed the children walking up the stairs, which led to a big machine with a disturbing sound.

“Denda! I told you nobody would come to save us. Nobody cares about children, especially us.” A boy said in disappointment.

“No! I saw Sterk from our clan in my dream. He told me a man in black would come,” the girl on the bottom said.

“That is only a dream, Denda! It is not real.”

The girl had walked up a few steps before she stopped and turned around, looking at us and said:

“He promised!… Sterk promised the man would come and save us.”

I started to run towards the stairs to stop the creature, but Sterk grabbed his whole arm around my throat and put his leg in a scissor position around my waist as I fell on the ground.

“You can not do anything here,” Sterk uttered.

I tried to get loose from his grip, but his whole arm and legs covered me in black fire. When the boy reached the top, and I tried to reach out with my hand, the creature started to kick them down as the sound of a shredder drilled harder into my ears. I couldn’t hold back my tears. Are they killing children here in the factory?… Why?

When the last one, who was the girl, reached the top, she turned and looked at us and told us one last time:

“He promised!” Before the creature kicked her into the shredder machine.

I clenched my fist and noticed the stronger black fire in my right fist. I tried to get loose from Sterk’s grip, but the boy was too powerful to handle.

“Listen, Zark! Your second test is rage. You still have a chance to save the children you just watched die. Your body is still back in the past, and you will have a short time to save them, so you must go all out to reach them. When you exit the wall and start running East, you will notice a big factory and need to hurry before it is too late. Because your body is still stuck when you hit the wall and the time you spent with me, you have a short moment to save them. Hurry!” Sterk said, putting his hand covering my eyes.

Does this mean the children are not killed yet? So, I have about 20 or 25 minutes to save them until they will get killed.

  • Chapter 26: Monsters Everywhere

This entry is part 26 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

Jacqueline grabbed my left wrist and checked the clock, commenting:

    “19 hours, Fierna!”

We had already rested for around an hour when Fierna got up. What’s up with the 19 hours?

“Okay! We have over 12 hours before entering the town where she is. As soon as we come closer, I will change for the worse, so both of you need to keep your distance if you do not want an early death.”

I looked at Jacqueline as I was a little worried that getting killed on a rescue mission because we were entering a town sounded awkward.

“Why is the clock so important? I thought we had around 5 days to save the baby.”

Both of them looked at me like I was some idiot.

“Just tell him the truth, Jacqueline!”

    I looked at Jacqueline, confused.

“Well, you have a lot of scars on your body.”

“Why? Have you seen me naked?” I responded.

“Eh, I won’t say anything. If you want me to be honest, many of the scars on your body got healed by someone else.”

I was slightly surprised by what she said, but at the same time, it was the first time my body felt a little bit lighter than before.

    “Continue!” I commented.

“You had a spirit-like from Hell in a shadow creature called Krat in your body that healed you many times when you had near-death experiences.”

She sounded crazy. What had that anything to do with the timer on the clock?

“Okay! Listen spirit! What you are telling me sounds wild; let’s say I would believe you. What does it have to do with the clock counting the hours?”

“That is the estimated time until you die of blood loss from your scars, and the injuries will go back to the stage before the Krat healed them.”

Wait a minute! I have a lot of scars. God damn it, I can not be this unlucky.

“Okay! So what exactly do we have to do?” I asked them.

Jacqueline started to whistle and turned her back towards me.

“This is why I am here. There is a doctor who can maybe heal your scars, and we will try to save your life. This specific Doctor only gets drawn to battlefields. So a big battle will occur in the town, so we can draw the Doctor into the battlefield and try to heal you. It is a long shot, but we do not have any choice because this is the only chance to save your life.” Fierna explained.

W…WHAT! They will start a battle to try and lure it out.

“That was a joke, wasn’t it?” I asked.

Fierna shook her head, and I didn’t know how to react. A battle has to occur to get a damn doctor in the field. To get treatment at a specific time frame, or I would die. Why did I even come here? Wait a minute! I don’t remember if I even accepted this mission.

“Don’t look at me like I am the one responsible for this. I got released from prison to start the battle and ensure you return alive to Victoria. We need to keep moving forward.” Fierna commented.

She walked past me and opened the door, and I just tried to gather my thoughts on the word Krat and if I had met one before. Nothing came to my mind, though.

Fierna opened the door, and we walked inside. It was a normal office space, except that nobody was in this office space. However, This area had no windows and was not as long as the earlier Office.

“There is nobody here!” I told them but noticed that Fierna and Jacqueline were focused and looking towards the other end of the walking path.

Fierna suddenly leapt forward, Jacqueline following right behind her, and I was the slowpoke who reacted late when suddenly the ground started moving like waves, and I lost my balance. Something like a long tongue grabbed my waist, and I looked up to see a big mouth with weird-looking teeth that didn’t even look sharp. Closing its mouth, it slowly pulled me upwards towards the ceiling. I tried to get loose from the tongue and noticed that both of them were dragged to the right and left. Why did I get the damn ceiling? Bjorna was on the ground and didn’t say a word or even try to help as I got closer to the mouth with it more intensely and bit faster, hoping I would be very close to its mouth soon. I pulled myself up with the help of the long tongue, and as I approached it closely, I put both my feet around the mouth and pushed back to not end up as a meal. My right hand got caught in black fire, and the chain swirled around on my hand, catching on fire. I used my left hand to keep trying to push away. My suit got covered with some liquid that smelled bad from all the drooling, and I punched above the mouth in the meaty area, but it didn’t let go of me. I kept punching, hoping it would let go as it was pointless. It refused to loosen the grip and kept trying to push me closer. I looked to the left to check the others, seeing both of them beating the wall monsters, when suddenly cubicles jumped up towards them, screeching out a monstrous sound.

I continued to punch the meaty area as it tried to pull me in, and after a couple of seconds, I raised my right leg and kept kicking the meaty area as the pink-coloured liquid was pouring down on my suit. The grip on my waist suddenly released, and I fell, hitting the floor, which affected my breathing, and I tried to get up as fast as possible. It was hard to breathe, and the chair tiptoed beside me as I leaned my arm towards it. All the furniture around me started to move. I got up in the end, trying to get focused and breathe properly, when something big hit me from behind, and when I was going to lean on a cubicle, a big mouth with sharp teeth suddenly showed itself in the middle of the cubicle trying to bite me. I hastily took two steps back as it jumped up in the air, and I rolled to the side as it tried to slam down on me. I grabbed Bjorna and moved closer to the entry door as several pieces of furniture started moving by themselves, and disgusting arms popped out from some of them as if they had transformed. One cubicle had massive red arms that popped from the sides but no mouth. What is the function? Are there several demons that are furniture at a black Friday price or what?

They kept their distance, and even though they had no eyes, I felt like they were looking at me. Suddenly, the walking path opened up, and I could see vaguely that green and red lightning was showing at the other end of the Office. That means the girls are still alive. Well, I am not in a good spot right now. A brown table hopped forward, and a muffled sound came out. What was strange, though, was that it didn’t look to have inherited any functionalities except moving like a table.

    “Mfm, mfem, mfm!”

Table tried telling me something, but I didn’t understand table language.

“No table Diablo Sprache!” I tried mixing Spanish and German to see if it would react. Maybe the made of origin was from Spain or Germany, but it didn’t look like it understood what I was saying.

“MFM!” It made a higher-pitched sound, which surprised me, but I suppose it said attack when all the different furniture started to move towards me again.

  • Chapter 25: The Hole and The Chain Reaction

This entry is part 25 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

Jacqueline moved forward on the other side when I started to run with the chair as my special shield, even though it was a pacifist. After a couple of cubicles, I could hear the Dobons screaming for their lives as I stopped momentarily when the cloaked creature was doing some movements with its hands. A couple of Dobons came rushing through the cubicles, and I was going to use my right fist. It was not on fire anymore. I prepared the chair as a weapon and started to smash on the heads of the Dobons to crush them. I noticed how the chair slowly changed to the Dobon’s blood colour as I dug through several of them. The space opened up as several Dobons hid behind the walls of the cubicles. They had left the space empty for me to run through, but a blue light ball was in the hands of the creature, and a loud screeching sound came from it. The blue light ball started to float in the air.

“Ah, shit! I got a bad feeling about this!”

“Please, sir! Throw me on the floor and never pick me up again,” The radio under the chair uttered.

From nowhere, it moved like an arrow towards me as I bent backwards and fell on the floor, barely missing me.

    “Ha ha! You missed!”

I started to run towards the creature as fast as I could. I began to float in the air for a moment before I got shot like an arrow towards the damn cloak creature. It moved aside, and I hit a cubicle. When I heard the sound of something shattering, I was gliding outside on the cubicle with something on the ground filled with red liquid, gliding me away from the window. I looked back and noticed that a big hole opened up on the ground. I tried to stop the cubicle, but it kept sliding even though I wanted to stop it with my hands to no avail. I tried to get off it when the hole became bigger, and I fell right in the hole, seeing an enormous mouth in the hole. I was dangling as it tried chugging, hoping my grip would get loose. I looked at my right hand as if a thin chain had rolled around, and it must have gotten stuck on my hand right before I fell. It caught black fire and started pulling me up from midair as I managed to grab the edge to climb up. I got some red liquid in my mouth and began to puke into the hole as the sharp teeth just chugged it like food was coming. The liquid was blood, I think. It tasted like blood. How do I know that? Ah, the time when I was on a vampire mission and got imprisoned, and they played around with me and fed me blood. It’s not a good memory to remember right now. I tried to get the chain up from the ground, but it would not budge from the ground. The black fire on the chain was gone, which did not help me. I released the chain from my hand and tried a couple of hero movements, like making a fist with the peace sign, a normal fist, and an F-word fist, but nothing seemed to work. Maybe I need to throw my fist in the air and scream something.

“IN THE POWER OF THE UZZA BUZZA CUZZA TUZZA CLAN POWER. I DEMAND YOU TO CATCH BLACK FIRE WHEN I THROW UP MY FIST!” I SCREAMED OUT IN THE AIR AND THREW UP MY FIST.

Huh! It didn’t work at all. I wonder if this is like the LITRPG crap where I have to dig in the ground or talk to the chair to see how I use my powers. That wouldn’t make sense. It would declare war against the LITRPG idiocracy, and the fights would make sense. Imagine putting a box up and telling it to use a potion. That would be luxury on an entirely different level compared to this shit where I can die on every right or left turn. Well, the announcement of LITRPG superhero voices didn’t work. Maybe I should grab the chain again. A screeching sound behind me echoed through the air, and I turned around and noticed the cloak bastard running towards me when it suddenly stopped not far from me, and it was preparing a new damn ball to fire. I tried to pull the chain out with all my strength when the hole in front of me suddenly planned out, and a big black flower rose shot up in the air.

“Great, will you both attack me from the front and back? How is that fair?”

The eyes popped out from the rose, and I needed to hurry now. I winded the chain around my hand and hit my fist several times on the ground, with blood splattering in all directions, to try and get it up. I glanced back and noticed the creature building a damn fireball, and in front of me, sharp teeth showed itself right under the eyes on the rose as an attack could come any moment.

“FOR THE GOT DAMN CRAP WEAPON SHIT, GO INTO THE DAMN FIGHTING MODE YOUR DAMN SHIT FIRE!” I screamed and kept hitting the ground when suddenly the chain caught in black fire and got loose from the ground.

I swung it back to try and aim it towards the rose. The chai moved with a flow as the rose attacked with the edge of the chain drilled through the rose and instantly pulled back, winding around my hand as the rose was still before it screamed loud in the air as it exploded with the leaves of the black rose started to shatter everywhere. I turned around to try and face the fireball that was on its way toward me, but the creature was on the ground. I moved quickly to check why it was resting when I noticed the forehead had a hole in it, as something went through its head.

“Oh! Now I get it. Hey Cloaky! How does knowing you would get crushed on distance fighting your coward? Karma is a bitch, isn’t it?”

The mouth was just open, and no reaction came from it. Well, it was dead, but I needed to have the talking to in this situation. I could have died…well, I was very close to dying.

I tried coordinating myself and looked around with the wall covering my area. I was outside, but there were just walls all around me. Is this a feeding area for the monster in the hole? I flew out from the window with the blue light ball coming back at full speed, and I slid with a cubicle wall on blood as a hole opened up to swallow me; hm…yeah! It is probably a feeding ground for monsters in holes.

“HEY! ARE YOU ALRIGHT OLD MAN!” I heard Jacqueline’s voice behind me.

I turned around, waving my hands towards her. If she could come to the window, they had beaten all the monsters, and we could move on. I noticed the chair on the ground under the window as it managed to get up on four legs and tried to tiptoe away from me as I jogged to it.

“Hey! Shield, where are you trying to escape?

It stopped and didn’t move before the radio changed the channel.

“I am a professional office worker. I am not a shield and not a toy. Covered in the blood of monsters, I am stepping on human blood, and I feel like you use me to get the hardest hits on you. My pacifist life is all over. My function is to sit on, and I also have feelings, non-violent feelings. Do you understand me, human? I am hurt!”

I tried to come up with something good but was completely speechless. Did a chair describe its feelings to me?

“It is your lucky day, chair. Our adventure is not a LITRPG, where you sit and do power-up things. We will listen to your feelings, and you will only function as a chair during our adventure. What do you say? You serve as a chair in the Office. Am I not right?” I asked it, trying to trick it into not creating any damn commotions for me at the beginning of this Level.

It was quiet for a moment as if it was thinking or something.

“You promise I will only function as a sitting chair!”

I made a smirk towards the chair and answered.:

“Oh yes! I promise.” I kept nodding and smiling with my hands behind my back with the fingers crossed.

“Thank you!” It said when it tiptoed on the wooden legs towards me as I picked it up and started to move towards the window to the girls.

“By the way! What is your name?” I asked it.

The channel on the radio changed, and it answered:

    “Ygrassilvantankumpanto Demganitanupmankantuana”

“Eh! Well, that can be a little hard to pronounce every time. What if your name was just Bjorna?”

    “Bjorna!” It said.

Well, Bjorn in Swedish means bears. I do not want it to get suspicious of me calling it bear, so if it is Bjorna, it can’t blame me later for messing up its name.

    “Yeah! Bjorna sounds good, right?”

It was quiet for a couple of seconds before Bjorna answered:

“Yes! It sounds short, but I accept that name and promise to respond.”

I kept smiling when we entered through the window; silence had taken over the whole office space. Fierna was sitting on the ground looking tired already while Jacqueline’s feet were still in green fire. We can’t get through the window because walls surround the space. There was only one door to the left, and I walked to it and saw a sign.

    “Danger! Do Not Enter!”

The chain started moving in the other direction and made a hard pull, so I fell to the ground.

Why is the chain reacting like that?

“Do not be surprised, human! The weapon you have as a chain is one of the weakest weapons in Hell. The only function that weapon has is that it consumes the power of its wielder, and you are the weakest one here. That is why the chain tries to run away from the door. You are too weak to handle the enemies behind that door. That is why we need to rest a little before we keep going on the suicide mission through the door so we can get out of the Office behind the wall.”

Fierna closed her eyes to keep resting as I realized I was holding them back. Was that what the Demon tried to tell me earlier?

  • Chapter 24: Black Flames!

This entry is part 24 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

The bird flew away, and I leapt towards him when suddenly everything turned black, and I fell to the ground. I quickly gathered myself up and noticed I was on the rooftop of a building surrounded by other buildings on fire. I went to the edge to check closer because I recognized one of the buildings and could see the train station T-central sign. Is Stockholm caught in a big flame?

A roar came from a distance, looking like a red dragon flying over the central area of Stockholm. It just kept making new fires in other buildings.

“Do you like my design for you? I didn’t have much time. I just made it while we were sitting in the grass. I was hoping this would motivate you.” The boy said as I turned around, which I didn’t find fun, that he had burned down the centre of Stockholm city.

“You know what boy! I don’t usually go all out on children, but you will be an exception.” I said, and I put my fists up to prepare for a battle.

He leapt toward me and tried a round kick as I leaned back to dodge it while taking two steps back. A quick punch hit the left side of my blazer. It caught fire, and I quickly took it off, looking at the black flames ruining my dear blazer. I removed my tie to protect myself and not let the boy hit me with his fists.

“Why are you trying to use a weapon? Your hands are already a weapon and the best protection for you.”

He put his hand on the ground, and three big flames showed up beside him. They changed into humans with white suits, as if the boy was trying to replicate my clothing. It was weird that it was two men and a woman, all three staring at me.

“I am bored and have not seen your skills except you trying to dodge. If you beat all three of them, I will fight you, or you will be stuck here with me forever. Oh! Grandpa! I forgot you can only make them disappear by creating black fire.”

What is that supposed to mean?

“Sterk or whatever your name is. How am I going to create black fire like that? Are you crazy?”

Both his eyes turned black as he hit his fist on the ground, and all three of the suit people rushed towards me. I tried to back away, but my reaction was too late when the woman made an aerial high kick from my left side, hitting my face as I flew against a short wall. If I were one metre above, I would have fallen right into the burning flames down the streets. I rolled forward to distance myself from the edge; this time, a round kick from the right came. I managed to get my arm to protect my face and followed up with a quick roll when the man had his back towards me. I grabbed both his legs and tried to swing him toward the wall, but a kick came on the left side, hitting my rib, and my throw was lame as the man just slid towards the wall. I held my right hand on my left rib to protect it, and when an upper kick came towards me, my left arm went up as a reflex to protect, but a hard kick on my chest made me lose my balance, and I fell on the ledge with my left leg in the air as they rushed towards me. I made a kick-up even though the edge was relatively thin. I landed with the left foot and tried to balance myself when the woman kicked toward me but missed as I kept moving on the edge to get away from them when the woman went up on the ledge, trying to chase me down with one of the men running beside her. I went down as the man made a round kick, and I dodged it while the woman was hit on the legs and fell with her head first to the ground. The man tried to coordinate himself, but I jumped and elbowed him on the head as he rolled forward. When he turned around toward me, I jumped with both my knees toward his face, rolled over his body and noticed the other man was now up. He started to swing both his fists as I made sloppy movements to dodge them, and he hit my face. I quickly kicked him on his left knee and looked back to see if the other two were up when the woman, bleeding a lot, was rushing towards me as I squatted down, which made her fist hit the man and I jumped up and made a back kick making her fly. If I don’t do anything about the situation, it will escalate, and I don’t know how long I can try to keep three people away. I saw Sterk in a squatted position, just laughing and smiling.

“I ran towards him as one of the men grabbed my collar and pushed me to the ground and tried kicking my face, but I got my arms up when the kick hit my face slightly. I noticed my nose bleeding. I had his right leg, and I quickly took my other leg and pulled it around to push him down on the ground, following with a kick up, but black fire hit my chest, and I swung several meters, falling on the ground. I was not on fire this time and had no energy to kick up after a hit from damn Sterk. The other two on the back had managed to recover even though the head of the woman was all bloody, and the man’s nose didn’t stop bleeding from my hit with the knee.

“YOU DID IT!” Sterk screamed out.

“What are you talking about?” I asked him.

“Look down on your right fist. One is better than nothing: getting the left fist working is a problem, but you now have a weapon. Use it to finish off these three.”

I looked down at my right fist and noticed a small black fire. It wasn’t the same size as Sterk’s fists, but it was burning and surprised me. I have never seen black fire before, or have I?

The woman made a high right kick, and I grabbed her leg and hit her face with my right fist. Her whole body started to burn black flame as the ashes quickly disappeared. The closer man hit my face when he was going to follow it up with one more hit. I managed to grab his throat with my right hand, and he screamed out in the air while he was burning up. The last one made a fly kick from my side, falling and rolling away to avoid getting hit by a follow-up. I went up, and he tried to make a fly kick again, but I took two steps forward, grabbed his body and slammed him to the ground. I hit him several times, noticing that he didn’t catch on flame, but his right cheek slowly burned through when suddenly his face caught fire after several hits, and his whole body disappeared. I was slightly out of breath and heard a clapping behind me. I turned around and started to run toward Sterk, who was smiling and exactly when I was going to hit him, he slammed his fist on the ground, and I was back in the Office. The creature was moving towards me as I looked for the chair. I quickly got up from the ground and noticed my right fist was still on black fire. I turned the chair in the other direction with the four legs pointing towards the creature. When it made a big swing with the club, I ducked, in an instant, went up and pushed the chair four legs on its chest and gave a hit with my right fist where the whole chair went into black fire with green blood splattered all over my face as the creature flew across the office space to the other end hitting the wall like a sticker. All four legs had drilled through its body, still in black flames. It was quiet in the Office for a few seconds when Jacqueline showed up and noticed the big creature stuck on the wall. She looked at me with a surprised look. I clenched my right fist, feeling that this new power wouldn’t make me look helpless and that I may be the strongest one in the group now.

“STOP LOOKING DOWN ON YOUR FIST. YOU ARE STILL THE WEAKEST OF THE THREE OF US. STOP PLAYING AROUND AND HELP US MOVE FORWARD IN THE OFFICE.” Jacqueline screamed at me, pointing her finger at me as Fierna was in battle all alone.

We need to get out of the Office as fast as possible, but if we have problems here. It makes me wonder what will happen when we come to the other side. Will there be more dangerous creatures?

  • Chapter 23: The Demon Clan

This entry is part 23 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

The cubicle in front of me exploded as something looking like a wooden bat came swinging from the left. I quickly squatted down as the wind from the bat swung above my head, but the creature’s body turned back towards me with a fist coming towards me. I quickly pulled the chair to protect myself, and I flew with my back, hitting the wall and started to cough blood. I tried to get up from the ground quickly, but the pain on my back made it feel like I tried to go up as slowly as I could. A fist came towards my head, and I managed to get my balance. I rolled to the side and grabbed the chair as protection when the creature managed to swing again with the fist toward my head. I pulled up the chair for protection, but this time, the distance to the other wall was far away, and I hit it with more strength as everything just went black for me.

I woke up and stared at wooden planks in the ceiling. I quickly turned around to check after the creature but noticed I was not in the Office anymore. I was on a terrace in what looked like a cabin. I got up slowly with the pain in my back when the door opened, and a young boy came out running out to the grass and made some kicks and punches in the air. I went down from the terrace when the boy suddenly yelled:

    “STOP!”

I stopped and didn’t move as the boy kept doing his punch and kick movements. His hands started to gush out black fire as he continued his moves.

“Your hands!” I said as I was interrupted in the middle with “Quiet!” from the boy.

He kept going for a minute when he suddenly closed his eyes and hit both his fists into each other as the black fire disappeared. He opened and relaxed his body and sat down on the grass, smiling.

“Do not be scared. I am a demon from my mother’s side and a human from my father’s side. So there is no reason to be afraid of me… the man in a black suit and the smell of a mixed human!” He told me.

I didn’t move my eyes from him and slowly sat down, trying not to make an expression to hide my back injuries.

“Where am I, and how did I end up here from the Office?” I asked without trying to dabble in a discussion and try to get answers quickly.

The boy scratched his head and looked at the sky weirdly. Did he try to fool me?

“I am going to give you an answer, black suit! Your demon’s powers got activated. I suppose you are on your way to die?” He asked.

I laughed at his question as if he was joking as I looked around in denial.

“What happened?” he asked with a more serious look now.

He caught me off guard, but I needed to return to the Office and the battle. I don’t even know if they are still alive.

“How do I get back to where I was?” I asked him, ignoring his question.

He blinked, and one of his eyes turned black. It looked like he was becoming angry.

“Answer my question, hybrid human!” He said with tension in the air, screaming that a battle was coming.

I need to calm the boy down before he starts his black fire crap on me.

“I was in an office with two women trying to pass a lot of monsters in Hell’s fourth Level,” I explained, thinking that he would not know what I was talking about.

“I see! Did you experience near death or pass out?”

That is a weird question. I flew across the office space to the other side. Damn, did the chair die when it got hit by the monster?

“I felt my back hitting something, and then everything just went black, and I woke up on your terrace.”

The boy looked down at the grass, probably trying to figure out the situation.

“Strange! Who is your parents? Because you would not be here if it were for them.”

My parents? I am a freaking orphan. Why does he ask about my parents suddenly?

“I am an orphan! I do not have any parents.”

His expression changed, and he looked confused by my answer.

“That is not possible. Everyone from the clan inherits powers; it does not matter if your blood belongs to different races. You belong to the clan, so you can’t be an orphan. Parents from our clan are not allowed to leave their children’s side until they have passed the five tests. Our clan’s children usually pass the fifth test when they are 18. There has only been one instance where a little girl with red hair passed it as a child. Her mother’s powers helped her a lot during the tests. It is forbidden to abandon your children. You will get excluded from the clan, and the children will not inherit their powers. You are here sitting with me. That means your parents did not abandon you.”

I tried to understand the explanation, but there was nothing. The Van Polan organization sounds like a clan of Witches, so maybe he tried explaining that to me.

“Am I belonging to a clan of Witches?”

He laughed and fell on the grass like I had just told him a comedy sketch. He took it far for a simple question. He calmed down, sat up again, and coughed a little to clean his throat.

“No! You belong to a clan of Demons, or I would say that you have the blood of the fallen angel of Uzza. A great warrior, and it makes me sad to say that Uzza disappeared, but not without starting our clan. Everyone who carries Uzza’s blood belongs to the clan. We belong to nobody and do not serve anyone, making us different from other demons. I have heard a rumour that the reason Uzza disappeared is that heaven took the angel back, but we belong to Hell and will always belong to the demon families.”

All this is starting to go overkill on imagination stories about fallen angels, great warriors and the feeling of a scarface without boundaries.

“Look, boy! I think there is some misunderstanding here. Is it possible to send me back to the Office?”

He stood up and started to stretch when I slowly got up from the grass, staring at him as he was looking to prepare himself. Was he going to join me in the battle in the Office with his brown stone-age clothes?

“At least change clothes, boy! do you have a suit?” I asked him.

He smiled and put his hand as he wanted to shake my hand. I reached out, and he grabbed it and commented:

“My name is Sterk Polan, brother of Lark Polan, Son of a human father and a mother demon who died while saving their children. I will be your first test, and you can not pass it and return to the Office until you beat me. I belong to the Uzza clan, and your future in inheriting the Uzza power rests on me for your training. I will provide the training until you pass all five tests.” He explained while he took a few steps back and went into a fighting position with black fire suddenly gushing out from both his hands.

I knew something was damn wrong. Why do I have to take all the shit? I put both my fists up, and we stared at each other. A bird flew in between us and sat on the grass with a moment of silence before the battle would start.

  • Chapter 22: Office Fight!

This entry is part 22 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

When I came around the corner, Jacqueline leapt forward with her right foot mounting yellow aura and suddenly caught on fire as she jumped up in the air screaming while doing a high kick towards the hordes of Dobons coming from the hallway to the left and Fierna went low. I quickly entered one cubicle on the right side to create two paths moving forward. This way, we won’t get attacked from the left only. I grabbed a stapler on the desk and went above the next cubicle when a Dobon flew toward me. I bent a little to the right and caught it in the air when I put the stapler on the creature’s forehead, with both of us looking at each other as if my plan had just gone down in the trash. I threw it down and stamped on the head as green blood started splattering in all directions and ruining my damn suit. The girls had moved a little bit forward with lightning in different colours covered on the left side with many screams from the creatures. I jumped over one more cubicle when something grabbed my throat midair. One of the big creatures growled with what I think looked like teeth from a shark and two black horns sticking out from the head. It opened its mouth as I quickly put my feet against the chest and tried to lean backwards to get out of the grip. A yellow light blocked my view for a second, and something red flew towards the creature’s arm, so I managed to get loose from the grip with pain as damn Jacqueline hit me also when aiming the Dobon towards the arm. I quickly got up from the ground as it swung toward me, and I ducked and tried to find something on the ground, but the trashcan was the only thing there. I grabbed it and put it on my head, but it didn’t go down to cover the view as it was supposed to. I felt pain on my right shoulder as a Dobon was biting down on my right shoulder, and the big creature tried to swing again, and I managed to duck again; it hit the Dobon with enormous power, so it splattered towards the wall. I quickly grabbed a wooden pen from the desk, and it tried to catch me, but I rolled to the side. With a swift move and all my strength in my right arm, I hit the pen on its left foot to slow it down. It screamed out in the air, and I quickly jumped up on the table with both of my feet first as a Dobon was jumping toward me. It grabbed my right foot as I pushed it down and kept stomping on its body until green blood started to gush out from the stomach. I quickly tried to move to the other cubicle when the big creature tried to climb above the cubicle behind me. I quickly found two pens, and I put both pens with full force right through the throat from both sides as both broke on impact, making it squeal a damn Dobon grabbed me with a chokehold from behind. I got pissed and grabbed it from behind and slammed it down on the desk and grabbed a book and kept slamming it toward the Dobon’s throat until the head was severed and my suit was slowly changing colour to green from all the blood. I moved to the next cubicle and landed on a round small chair. It moved away from me, and I landed on the ground instead.

“I am a pacifist!” A sound came from a small radio attached to it, making the whole situation awkward as I was unsure if the radio or the round chair was talking to me.

Several Dobons came flying in the air with small machetes, and I quickly grabbed the chair and let several machetes hit it. I dropped it instantly and made a football shot with one Dobon as it hit the wall. Another one swung towards me as I backed away, grabbed the chair, and swung it towards the head as it fell on the ground. I kept swinging toward another Dobon with the chair, hitting it with the sound of something just broke from it, and I stamped on the one on the ground and kept pounding the chair on the head of a Dobon, and I just kept going with all the adrenaline.

“AOW! AOW! AOW!…STOP!” The radio on the chair screamed in the air.

I stopped for a second and tried catching my breath when I heard Fiena scream:

    “GET DOWN!”

Something tearing up the floor from a distance was approaching quickly, and I jumped into the hallway as a big ball of fire entered through the cubicles. I approached the half-circle hole and saw many cubicles burn through. I turned around, and a big black ball was still on fire after hitting the end of the office space. Someone with a cloak and red arms was doing a weird pose when it looked like it was preparing a new fireball, as a tiny spark came from its palm on its hands from the arm movements it did.

“HEY! THIS IS NOT FREAKING LITRPG. HOW IS THIS FAIR GAME WHEN YOU KEEP SWARMING THE AREA WITH MONSTERS? ALL I HAVE IS A FREAKING CHAIR LIKE THE GUY WHO WRITES A LITRPG ABOUT A FREAKING TABLE ON RR!” I screamed without any reaction.

Several Dobons peeked through the fire hole the cloaked red creature had created and stared at me. One more of the big demon creatures had its eyes on me, but this one’s head reached the ceiling.

“WHY CAN’T I SEE YOU BOTH? I NEED HELP!” I screamed in the air, hoping to get the girls’ attention to lore the big one away so I could run through the cubicles and attack the cloaked one.

There were sounds of battles, and I think I heard the sound of splatter, which made me think if Jacqueline were going all out, it wouldn’t be fun to get a hard kick from her.

“YOU ARE THE ONE FAR BEHIND US WHILE WE BATTLE MOST ENEMIES. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO NEEDS TO HELP US AND ATTRACT AWAY SOME OF THE ENEMIES!” Freina screamed back, and this was the moment to be discreet and not make a big thing of getting help.

The big demon started to move towards me, and the cubicles were not slowing it down as it began to jog and destroy everything in its way.

“In the power of the Radio Chair, I demand you to become a weapon!” I said and lifted the chair in the air, hoping to get the chair to a weapon, but nothing happened except the radio making a sound like it was changing channels, and it responded:

“Mister! I am a pacifist, and why did you lift me in the air? I want to remind you that this is Hell. Do you think a Hero would survive here? Look around. You have a chair in your possession, which you can sit on. You bad humans use me as a hitting wall and shield. I am not to be used as a weapon. I am the lowest rank you can get as a demon, and we only have functions like a table, spoon, chair, bed, and many other things. We do nothing except serve everyone in Hell. Still, you use me as a weapon. Are you not well human?” It asked after it had given the speech of the year.

The big one was suddenly two or three cubicles away, and I went quickly into a fighting position, but it would be all over if I got a hit with the size of that creature.

  • Chapter 21: 22 Hours until I die!

This entry is part 21 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

What is that voice? Is someone shouting my name? Am I dreaming?

“Za….Zark…ZARK!” Someone screamed, and I quickly opened my eyes and was met with something with green eyes.

“Get away from me before I kill you!” I told her as she disappeared quickly from my view, and everything in the sky was red.

I turned around and quickly got up from the ground when a young woman with red hair and red eyes stared at me. The wind coming in from the right indicated we were outside. A gigantic wall was in the front, touching into the sky without any ending in sight. There was, though, a building in front of us inside the wall. Wait a minute, They called me to the Office for an assignment to do what?… Ah, Shit!

“We are in Hell! Arent we? I asked them.

The silence explained everything, and I noticed the green-eyed girl I had seen in my dreams. She was the one who captured me from the light. It is strange because she looks much older and wears a skimpy green outfit. Was it to match her eye colour?

“Eh! What are you?” I asked her.

She turned to me and pulled her short hair behind her ears, and right before she was going to speak, I held my hand out to stop her and said:

“I am not a fool! I saw what you tried to do. Don’t even try to fool anyone. It is obvious as Hell. We are not in a K-Drama; you can drop your act. Who are you?” I told her with a stern voice.

She was going to bend down but stood up straight with the innocent face gone. With a big disinterest, she told me:

“I am a spirit; my name is Jacqueline Hernandez, and I am here to be the best support someone can be.”

“Ugh…Shut the fuck up, boobinator! So what if you look like 22 now, you still sound like a brat.” The voice from the redhead came behind me, and I thought for a moment that I had just heard an angel speak the truth, but the red-eyed personality was still hard to read.

I turned around to the red-eyed girl who was giving me a ‘go to hell’ stare as I was struggling a little bit with why she was even here.

“Who are you?” I asked her.

She stopped looking at me and had her eyes on the ground.

“I am Fierna, a nobody!” She answered.

She refused to face me, and when I was going to ask again, an alarm went on my left wrist. I noticed there was a digital watch as it was counting down from 118 hours. I showed it to Jacqueline, who quickly responded:

“We have 118 hours to save the baby!”

I took a deep breath as I had an awful feeling about this before I opened the front door to the building as we entered. Meet with a dark hallway, I think. It was so dark, which made it impossible to see where it was leading. When we went through the front door, a big wall blocked the hallway with the text Reception and an arrow pointing to the right. There was a door there. It was weird that it was covered in red, which made me guess it might be blood. Fierna led the way and stopped by a desk only a few meters away. I peeked to get a clear picture of what was behind the desk and noticed someone covered with a cloak, but human hands were touching the table. Fierna backed towards us, but it was just a human, so I approached the cloaked individual. I looked down a bit to see if I could see the person more clearly and noticed a man with closed eyes and a beard fibbing with the pen on the registration form. Fierna was furious and whispered towards me:

“Get away from the desk, or you could die.”

She must be joking. It is a human in a cloak and hood over its head. What is the worst that can happen?

“Interesting! A man with human blood enters Level Four in Hell. Someone must have been desperate if they sent someone who would attract attention from all demons on this Level.” The man spoke, removing his hood and showing his light red eyes.

He looks like a middle-aged man, but he has no pupils in his eyes. What is he?

The man looked away from me and stared at the redhead like she was more interesting.

“The information I got that three passengers would pass through, but a daughter to a demon king?…A spirit and the man in front of me with human blood. Are you three trying to die?” The man told us in a dark, low tone.

Fierna kept her distance, while I was just curious who the red eyes were.

“Question! Who are you, and why is there a desk here?” I asked him.

He turned to me smiling and pushed the registration form paper closer to the edge for me to sign.

“Someone did me a favour many years ago. They sent a message to open a way for three passengers to enter safely. So you are inside now, that means you have entered the building. Please sign the registration form to confirm that you have entered the building without any injuries.” He answered.

I looked down at the registration form and noticed three lines on the paper. Did the lines stand for the signatures?

“I will sign it if you tell me who you are!” I said.

“Fine! I am Orobas, a demon prince in Hell. I command 20 legions and a true man or horse of his word. I promise nobody from my 20 legions will attack the three of you, and I can not take any responsibility for the other 29 on this Level. Watch out for Neberius legions. They are dangerous and come in different shapes.”

I looked at both girls to get confirmation on Nabarious, held my hands up, and shook my shoulders because I had never heard of Naberius. Jacqueline tried to read my body movements and then shook her head before saying:

“Oh! UH! Naberius, Yes, you are human. You know humans call the demon Cerberus, the one with three heads and is big!” She made movements of a monster with her hands, and I thought, why do we need her on this assignment?

Wait a minute! She was referring to that dog with three heads that grow back out. Or is it serpent heads? Why does that even matter?

“What the Hell! That is guaranteed death for us. We are in the worst-case scenario. What did Veronica think about sending us on a mission for a baby, sacrificing three lives? I mean two lives because you are a spirit, and probably your dead body is somewhere, Jacqueline.” I told them in an angry tone.

We will die here. It is worse than an impossible mission.

“Uhm! I forgot to tell you, Zark! You only have 22 hours to live before most of your scars start opening up, which will cause blood loss and will end with your ultimate death.” Jacqueline said without any care in the world.

I couldn’t handle everything that was going on right now. Am I going to go completely crazy? I squatted down, buried my head in my arms, and quickly got up.

“ARE YOU ALL FUCKING CRAZY, I DON’T EVEN CURSE LIKE BERK DO. IS THE FUCKING AUTHOR COMPLETELY CRAZY? HOW THE FUCK ARE WE GOING TO FUCKING SURVIVE THIS THING WHEN THAT CRAZY FUCKING AUTHOR JUST THROWS US INTO SHIT ALL THE FUCKING TIME. WHO THE FUCK PUTS THREE DOG HEADS AND LEGIONS OF FUCKING 29 OF THEM IN ONE FUCKING LEVEL. HE IS SERIOUSLY TRYING TO WRITE ME OFF FROM THE VAN POLAN UNIVERSE, THAT DAMN BASTARD, NO WONDER HIS READERS FUCKING HATE HIM.”

    Well, that escalated quite quickly.

“Are you done? We forgot to mention also, my sister, we are going to be free from prison to start a battlefield to save your ass.”

“W…Wh…What! A battlefield. Like open space with a mini-war going on? I asked her to get a clear answer.

“Uhm! I think Fierna means that we need to have a lot of demons and corrupt souls around when the battlefield is going on. If I could choose an expression, it would be that we need to create a massacre.”

I noticed that Fierna took a deep breath as Jacqueline had killed the mood entirely, with only the Orobas man laughing. I walked away around the corner before stopping. I saw a big crowd in the corridor, but there were a lot of creatures staring at me, some of them drooling. They looked like a smaller version of goblins but were red and couldn’t be goblins. I backed slowly back towards the others as they started to growl, but they were not attacking.

“Oh! I am sorry for not presenting one of your obstacles, human. My favour was only valid until the three of you entered the building, so the Dobons kept their distance. I will kill them if they come closer.” Orobas said, going up from his chair and leaning towards the desk.

“Please sign so I can leave. The direction you must go after I leave is the same as the Dobons watching you. A door on the other side will lead you to the other side of the wall.” Orobas said.

“What is a Dobons?” Fierna asked.

“It is an inbreed born between demons and goblins. They are a little smaller than goblins but have the colours of demons and are great warriors compared to goblins.”

Fierna and Jacqueline moved around the corner to check out the small army standing in the office corridor with desks lined up after each other. Fierna and Jacqueline moved quickly and signed the paper as they prepared for battle. Only my signature was left, and I signed the paper to get it over with, and Orobus put it inside his cloak. He put his hand on my shoulder and starred at both the girls and said:

“I will give you some advice, human! If you save them, it will be the end of you. Remember that!”

I looked at both of them and when I turned around, I saw that he was gone. I could hear the Dobons scrambling in the corridor as I hurried to join them in the long corridor office fight.

  • [END OF ARC 1]Chapter 20: Hell (Story Switch to First POV)

This entry is part 20 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

Victoria and Tristo had moved to her Office with him still in underwear.

“Tell me everything you know about the Doctor in Hell?” She asked.

Tristo tried to reflect on the rumors he had heard about the Doctor in the last couple of months. There has not been any rumor about the third Doctor, but there have been rumors about internal clashes between Demon races where something has been running around trying to save damned souls to Hell.

“The Doctor gets attracted to the battlefield. All that is necessary is to create a battlefield big enough to make it appear there, and they also have to catch it and convince it to repair all his scars.”

“I can see in your eyes that you are excited; what is in your mind?” She asked.

Tristo was smiling and chuckling before answering with a question:

“What if they free Fierna from prison? I have heard she has been on Level four for a long time?”

Victoria looked at him in a shocked state before realizing that this damn Krat must be completely crazy.

“That is not possible. Fierna is extremely dangerous even to be close to. What if she kills them on the spot?”

Tristos eyes stopped meeting Victorias as he looked down on the floor for a moment before answering:

“We can always send Illiyona Roth in with them. I mean, Zark was the one who imprisoned her. What can go wrong?”

Victoria slammed her fist down on her desk and rose from her chair:

“ARE YOU INSANE? YOU WANT TO SEND IN A DANGEROUS PRISONER THAT IS THE DAUGHTER OF BELIAL, AND AT THE SAME TIME, THEY ARE GOING TO FREE HER HALF SISTER. IT WILL CREATE AN ENORMOUS BATTLEFIELD BETWEEN THE SISTERS. THE REASON WHY FIERNA IS IN PRISON AT ALL IS BECAUSE HER SISTER PUT HER THERE.” Victoria screamed out before realizing the plan may not be so bad.

It was a quiet moment before Victoria asked:

“Is there any other alternative?” Because Fierna was too dangerous.

“There is Naberius, but they will probably die if they awake it.”

“I will not even humor the idea of waking Naberius from its sleep. It would force everyone on all levels to get alert if they woke up a three-headed demon.”

“ Illiyona Roth it is!” Tristo answered and climbed out of the room’s window instead of closing the door.

“FINE!” Victoria yelled after Tristo and followed him.

Victoria put her palm against a lock that scanned her whole handprint as the door opened with surprised blond women sitting there, shocked at seeing the organization’s leader. Quickly, the woman got up from her chair and stood straight like a soldier, ready for battle without saying anything. Tristo chuckled at the blond woman as she did not look prepared for the surprise visit.

“Cassie! Can you open the door and give us access to cell number 404?

“Yes, Miss Victoria!” Cassie responded quickly, moved to the computer, and started to type. The door leading to several prison cells opened.

When the light hit the floor from the ceiling, it was impossible to see the whole cell on the entire block. The light only shone up a part of the cell, and complete pitch-black darkness covered the rest. After a couple of meters, a pink arm stretched out, trying to grab Victoria’s shoulder, but it was too far away. They kept walking for a while until they reached cell number 404. Red eyes were staring at them in the darkness without moving.

    “Hi, Illiyona!”

“Whore!” Someone inside the cell said in a female voice.

“Funny, you have a sense of humor after all!” Victoria quickly commented.

“What do you want Bitch?” The voice asked.

Victoria took a deep breath as she thought the swearing was like being home with all three Van Polans, especially Berk.

“I have a proposition for you, Illiyona?”

“Ah, huh! What would that possibly be?” Illiyona asked.

“Freedom and getting released from prison and a chance to live a quiet life in Paladin Woods, no more running,” Veronica explained.

The two red eyes moved in the darkness and came closer to the prison cell’s bars when a young woman in her twenties with red spiky hair, red eyebrows, and red eyes stared at Victoria. She had no expression and was not even happy or excited by the proposition.

“Victoria Bitch Polan will release the daughter of a very powerful Demon and a Witch. Am I dreaming right now even though I cannot dream and only see fire when I shut my eyes? What is the catch?”

“You need to keep this body alive until a mission finishes,” Tristo uttered with his murky voice, catching Illiyona’s attention as she moved her eyes over to Tristo and gave him a stare now.

“You want me to go on a mission with the man who caught and imprisoned me? He also has human blood, which makes the embarrassment even worse.”

“Yes, and he needs to return alive to Earth,” Victoria said as Illiyona’s eyebrows changed after the mention of Earth, and she tilted her head a little bit to the side, confused about what these two individuals wanted with her.

“You mentioned Earth. Where exactly is the mission?”

Victoria took a deep breath before answering because she knew it might be an overreaction from Illiyona.

“You will enter through a portal with this man and a walking spirit to level four…in Hell.”

“Are you stupid, Victoria? My sister is in prison on Level 4 because I put her there with a purpose. She is a cunning Demon with plans to poison Earth, and you come here to me to enter Level 4, and she will feel my presence there. Do this man and the spirit have a Death wish, getting their souls eaten?” Illiyona asked Victoria in an upset tone because it sounded unbelievable.

“That is why I am here! We need you together with the man and the spirit to break your sister free from prison.” Illiyona couldn’t believe the nonsense coming out of Victoria’s mouth.

“Have someone given you some poisonous spell? Do you understand what will happen If I break the spell and release her from prison? I know my sister. She is a tyrant and will start killing everyone around her, and she will do it because she wants to, without any purpose. What can this man possibly gain from releasing my sister from prison?”

Victoria nodded at Illiyonas, worried about her sister.

“Ah, Yes! That is why we need you to release her, the clashing of two sisters, the creation of a battlefield with souls on their way to vanish. We want to do that, and you will barely have 24 hours to do it when entering Hell. The battlefield is to try and lure a Doctor to come in and save the souls there.”

    “What doctor?” Illiyona asked, frustrated.

“There is a rumor of a Doctor who gets lured to battlefields when several souls are risking…to vanish.”

Illiyona closed her eyes as she was on her way to getting very angry at the proposition of the Bitch because she wanted to do all these things because of a rumor of a Doctor?

“You are going to put Zark Van Puss in Hell because of a mission to get a Doctor?” Illiyona tried to argue the proposition.

“Actually, not! The Doctor is needed because, within 24 hours, many of the man’s scars will burst out. After all, the Krat created them. The Doctor needs to patch him up, and then you will go on the mission to try and rescue a baby who will die within five days.”

    “What!” Illiyona commented, confused.

“I did forget to mention that the Witch Samantha Creust is in Level four and rules…Everything there!”

“No, I’d rather stay in prison. Neither my sister nor I are powerful enough to stop Samantha. You have to reconsider. I am telling you this because we can not even beat her when she is not in full power. You do not want to see her go on full power. Demons are scared of her, and she is a Witch. I refuse; I will stay in this prison cell. I do not want to die.

“Okay!” Victoria said and started to walk away.

Illiyona grabbed the bar and yelled:

    “YOU WILL ALL DIE!”

    Three hours later…

A portal opened up on a sandy road with strong wind coming from the right and the sky covered in red. Three individuals were pushed through the portal on the road as Abella followed them. With Tristo in the middle of the three, his left hand cuffed to Illiyona and his right hand cuffed to Jacqueline. Kutt moved from Jacqueline’s jacket to Tristo’s shoulder and opened its mouth.

“Do not let the Spenx die!” He commented before pulling out a small red ball and putting it into Kutt’s mouth, then transferring it to Kutt’s body.

A few seconds passed before Zark fell to the ground, not moving. Kutt quickly jumped over to Illiyona’s chest and crawled between her big boobs like it was a comfortable bed. They dragged Zarks body onto the ground in the new black suit he was wearing, creating a distance that was way more than ten steps until they reached the top of a small hill when Abella was screaming from a distance by the portal:

    “DID HE DIE!”

Jacqueline quickly got down and felt with her finger on his nostrils as she confirmed that he was still alive.

“HE IS ALIVE, WE ARE OKAY!” She screamed back to Abella, who responded by waving.

The cuffs opened up so both them could get loose from Zark, and they stared in the direction they were heading. The road led to a gigantic wall going far up with no end in sight, except for something that looked like a three-story building inside the wall, a couple of windows covered in red color and it looked run down.

“You think whatever is at the building will welcome us to Hell.” Jacqueline expressed.

“I did not even accept coming here. That Bitch sent us here to die. Whatever it is inside and what it is will not welcome us. You should be happy if we survive going through it.”

A bolt of red lightning struck a couple of meters from the walled building, the road catching red fire in a circle as both women looked at each other and then glared down at Zark, hoping he would be prepared for what was coming because he had not received the information that he is in Hell now.

  • Chapter 19: 122 Scars and The Doctor Of Hell

This entry is part 19 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

“I need everyone to leave this area except for Alessia, who is already in the room with Tristo,” Victoria said as both Abella and Jacqueline glared at her momentarily before they started to walk away in the corridor.

Victoria opened the door to the medical room, stepped in, and told Alessia:

“Take off his pants and the loose ends until he is only in his underwear.”

Alessia widened her eyes before she moved in front of Tristo, unbuttoned his pants, and pulled them down, trying to shut her eyes off the embarrassment that she had to do it. Couldn’t the red-eyed man do it himself? Alessia thought for herself.

Tristo was smiling with enjoyment as he didn’t get affected by the women in front of him, and he kept staring at Victoria.

“You came in for some action…Bitch!” Tristo uttered with his murky voice.

Alessia quickly moved to the side with the pants as Victoria took two steps closer to Tristo and smiled back with an answer:

“I do not get attracted by black goo!”

Alessia felt the tension in the room and tried to take a step to the right but hesitated because it was the direction to Victoria. If she moved forward, she would end up with Tristo, who had bulging muscles everywhere and would feel embarrassed. If she walked left, there would be nowhere to go, and she would only end up behind the medical table. The tension worsened as Alessia’s thoughts spiralled for a second, and they either started a fight that would escalate or something that did not have anything to do with fighting would happen. She just stared at them and gulped, waiting for something to happen in this starring contest. Suddenly, Victoria turned to Alessia and said:

“I want you to count every scar on his body. Do it now!”

Tristo’s smile vanished as he knew what the Witch’s plan was. Alessia went down on the floor and started to count every scar on his body.

“How about we make a deal? I put up a shield for 24 hours. The shield will crack within that time as it is hard to hold when the one who built it belongs in Hell. Let’s hope it takes the lesser burdened injuries, and then, for the measure of it, he probably has 12 hours to live before he starts bleeding everywhere on his body.” Tristo smiled and tried to bargain.

“I have another offer. You put up the shield, and we will go down a couple of levels for Zark to get the treatment he needs.”

Tristo couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“You can not mean what you just said, Witch! Are you going to open Lucifer’s prison cell to heal the man? Are you going to trade so many lives at stake and risk Lucifer going up to Valiant and going rampant on everyone for treason for this man? What makes him so valuable is that you are ready to go to these lengths to save his life?”

“I need to keep him alive!” Victoria answered shortly and firmly, with no hesitation, which made Tristo angry that she sounded so firm about her decision.

Alessia looked finished as she turned to Veronica, but her hands shook.

“Miss Veronica! He has 122 scars, but I can only see 16 that look like critical injuries that can end his life almost immediately.” Alessia said and positioned herself straight toward Veronica.

Veronica widened her eyes, not believing she heard right. That could not be correct because it did not look like 122 scars in front of her.

“TURN AROUND TRISTO!” Victoria screamed as Tristo laughed. He slowly turned around, and Alessia buried her head on the floor because she did not want to look at his back.

Straight lines were going from one end to the other, covering the whole back as it was apparent it was scarring from a whip. Victoria started to cry as she closed in on his back, and when she touched it, everything was even worse as she could feel her hand burning against the flesh. Zark received serious injuries, but when did all this happen?

Victoria went back two steps and quickly wiped her tears. Tristo was not smiling anymore because of the guilt he felt.

“What happened to Zark? Victoria asked with a stern voice.

He turned around to face Victoria and felt there was no point in lying to her because there would be a risk that everything in the room would escalate.

“I will tell you the truth! We got information about a possible sighting of Sandra. Still, Zark hesitated because the area did not belong to Paladin Woods, and there were rumours that the no-limit area may have breeds nobody had met yet. So when he hesitated, I took over his body and travelled there. I got caught by a gang of disfigured Goblins and tortured for several days. There was a Goblin with a red-coloured head who looked like it enjoyed it. I could not switch back and had to hold on to his body. I managed to get out of prison and kill all the creatures there. Some escaped further into the woods, and I found an underground Demon doctor who had experience treating Witches, Demons, and Humans. For over three weeks, I had control over his body so the treatment and my powers could help him get better. One thing I could not heal was how he felt each morning when he woke up, and his whole back was on fire. He never spoke about it, never commented, but I could see the suffering on his face every time he watched the mirror. He knew something had happened to his body. He knew that something had taken over him, and the sharp focus in his mind was on Sandra. No suffering would deter him from losing focus, but I knew I was the one causing it.

Disgust took over Victoria’s body like she would explode any moment. Tristo realized quickly that the Witch could go berserk any moment, but she would not hurt Zark.

“I may have a solution to the injury problems!” Tristo uttered in an attempt to check if Victoria would calm down.

It was quiet momentarily as Alessia pretended to play around with some papers to make it look like she was busy with work, but all she wanted was to get the Hell out of that room.

“What would that be?” Victoria asked.

“I heard of a rumour about a doctor who treats lost souls in Hell, a war doctor with the same skills as The Doctor.”

Victoria shook her head in denial and said:

“That can’t be. The Doctor only had two apprentices. One is a member of our organization, the baby blue dragon Faz. Then, there is one in the Fallen Kingdoms that nobody has ever seen or met. That one only meets patients it wants to meet, and you can only access it through a portal, a portal only that the Doctor can open for you. I have never heard of a third one existing.”

“I think you can be wrong there. The Doctor presented two apprentices to the world, but the rumour goes that the third apprentice was banished to Hell and never heard from again. I have heard that it was the absolute favourite student of The Doctor. The rumours say it is a Guinea Pig, which goes by the name The Death Doctor, who tries to heal wounds, but all it meets is Death. Strangely, the animal thinks a soul can meet its saviour in Hell.”

  • Chapter 18: Wake Up Old Man!

This entry is part 18 of 47 in the series Zark Van Polan And The Creatures Of Darkness

A yellow light surrounded Zark in a circle. He tried reaching out his hand outside but could not see his hand in the pitch-black darkness outside of it.

“HELLO!” He yelled as the sound echoed in all directions.

He moved forward, and the lightning above him followed him every step. He tried jogging slightly, but the light kept him in the circle.

“CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME!” He yelled out with a continuing echo going in all directions.

Suddenly, he heard someone crying quite close, but he had to try to listen carefully to know which direction it was coming from. He took three side steps to the right to check if he was going in the direction of the sound. The crying was closer now and not far away from him, and he took two more sidesteps, noticing two elbows showing up. When he took half a step more, he saw it was the Meldan woman. She had her hands buried in her face and just kept crying, not noticing that she had Zark in front of her. Zark bent down, looking up to try to make eye-to-eye contact with her, but he lost focus for a second and stared at her big breast. They were even more squishy than Veronicas, even noticing arteries indicating they probably were 100 per cent real juggs. He quickly came back to reality, realizing that he didn’t want to think like Berk. He straightened himself and coughed lightly to get Meldans attention, who stopped crying momentarily and looked up, noticing Zark was standing before her. She quickly gave him a big hug and kept crying on his shirt, and for some reason, she didn’t want to let go of him. Zarks arms were in the air, not knowing how to react to a woman he didn’t know who hugged him just like that from nowhere. It went on for a while, the crying as he kept standing still with a sudden stop so she could wipe her nose on his white shirt and blazer as he turned away and didn’t want to look down on her destroying his outfit with her snooty nose. She moved her hands up, grabbed both his cheeks, and turned his head toward her, making him gag as he saw a big bogger on her nose. Then he turned his eyes downward towards her chest and then up again and then down again, realizing there was no chance in the world that this was worth it as he kept gagging and turned his head away quickly. She quickly removed the bogger on her nose with his blazer and forced him to look at her again.

“What is wrong, Honey?” She asked.

Honey? Zark was confused, did boogerlicious call him honey?

“Are we…together?” He asked with a low voice.

She quickly stepped back with a different expression on her face. Zark realized that maybe he should not have said anything. She lifted her right hand with a silver ring around the fourth finger.

“How dare you ask your Wife a question like that?”

Zark’s eyes rolled around a bit as he tried to think if he got married, but nothing came to mind. Did he maybe get married Las Vegas style in a drunk state? Why would he take a Witch with bogger and big breast to big breast size…enormous breast size?

It made him wonder if using them as a boxing sack when working out would be appropriate. Maybe he used them as a boxing sack when working out if he married. As he returned, the snap of a finger woke him up from his analytical thoughts. There was no anger from Meldan as she smothered his left cheek with her hand, making him realize that maybe she was trying to smear her bogger on his face.

“I am sorry! It was my mistake. I should not have ordered her to do it. It would have been better if we would have ended it there and then.” She tried explaining.

Zark grabbed her hand to remove it from fear of being called bogger-man by the witches, and he knew if Berk was still alive, he would laugh at him so much and call him bogger wogger.

Some grabbed Zark in the back, and he quickly tried to shake it off and was on his to take the blazer off when he heard the sound:

    “Sjev Sjev!

He got stressed when someone jumped him from behind. As he leaned forward a little bit, someone with big shoes kicked the woman out of the light and quickly locked her legs around his waist. He tried to shake the person off his back, but a Hadaka Jime move was made on him, choking him as he fell, getting unconscious with the person pointing two fingers the air of success in almost choking Zark to Death. Zark’s body started floating in the air, going up towards where the light was coming from. Meldan returned in the light and began staring up, noticing her husband disappearing from her view.

“YOU DON’T HAVE ANY RIGHT TO DECIDE WHEN HE DIES…REAPER!” The girl on his back yelled down to Meldan, whose complete body had changed to a blond model in a skimpy red outfit with both eyes turned black.

Zark’s body woke up as Kutt and Jacqueline flew out from his body and hit the Window. He quickly tried to get the tube out of his mouth to catch his breath as his eyes were red. Tristo had woken up and fell to the ground as Jacqueline knew a left hook approaching her. With a quick movement, Tristo made a crack in the Window with luck for Jacqueline, who moved to the right at the last second, grabbing Kutt with her and quickly moving towards the exit of the room with several Witches following after her as Tristo still was violent. One Witch stayed behind as Tristo sat on the table, staring at Victoria, who tried to be strong and quickly wiped her tears when she noticed Tristo was waking up. The Witch removed cables and tubes stuck on the upper body as he stared forward at the Window.

“Interesting that you sent in the spirit to get him back,” Tristo uttered with a murky voice.

“I did not send her to get him. She did it herself!” Veronica responded with a high voice until she noticed the speaker on the wall with a button.

Tristo got up from the table and up to the Window.

“A spirit can not take him back. How did the spirit manage to do that? I felt a Reaper walking in the darkness when I tried to send him back, but the Reaper wanted to stop him and convince him to choose Death instead.” Tristo kept muttering.

Jacqueline opened the zipper on her jacket, and Kutt showed everyone the happy dragon face.

“Ah! You had a Spenx, the dragons that can walk the same path as The Death and The Reapers. Congratulations, Death and its Reapers are aware now that a alive Spenx is walking in the same space as them.”

Victoria’s expression changed as Tristo knew that Samantha might have one or two Reapers imprisoned in Hell, which could cause even more problems than they already had.

Tristo started to laugh as he walked in a circle with Zark’s ripped muscle body and tried to think of a solution, but his laughter echoed more in the air as his red eyes widened more because he knew it was over. He walked up to the Window and started to scream towards Victoria:

“ZARK AND HIS BODY WILL DIE BECAUSE I WILL LEAVE HIS BODY THE MOMENT WE ENTER HELL.” Both stared at each other, which made Victoria uncomfortable. If Tristo decides to leave his body, he won’t be able to survive in Hell without powers.
